Barolo 2015

The Anselma Giacomo winery was born in the early twentieth century when the grandfather Felice made a choice: to produce only red wines from the Langa. They believe all of the work is on the vineyard, great wines are produced only from grapes of excellent quality, the land requires a lot of work and a lot of passion. This is a beautiful classically styled Barolo. Garnet and ruby in color the nose opens with cherries, roses, and some hints of licorice root, anise seed, and cinnamon. On the palate the wine is elegant with dusty tannins, and balanced acidity. The flavors correspond to the nose, cherries, roses, licorice root, and anise primarily, with hints of orange peel, cedar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder. Try with red meats, or dishes based around mushrooms with earthier flavors.
