Pinot Noir from Pommard – a combination of Les Lormes (planted 1992-98) and De Sousa (planted 1949) – these parcels were vinified separately in previous vintages. 3 day cold soak and then 3-4 week maceration (50% whole bunch, 50% de-stemmed). Aged in used barrels for 12 months, and then settled in tank for 3 months. Not fined or filtered. Minimal SO2.

Fragrant perfume that is so enticing. Red fruits, red berries and roses. Black tea and a little sappy savoury note. Palate is the same – very light, with strawberries and red cherries. Fine and delicate but with just enough weight. More of that linear profile that is apparent across the 21's. Sweet red berries, and that sappy note in the mid palate. Fine black tea tannins add a nice bitterness to the finish. Summer or lunch wine. A little too easy to drink!
