Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir 2021
Region: Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
Country: Australia
Format: 750mL
ABV: 13.5%
Showing some great intensity on the nose, with cranberry, cherry and satsuma plum aromas. On the palate the texture/tannin stands out, the small portion of whole clusters (15%) used has a superb impact. The palate is a happy medium between sweet and savoury, the feel at once dense and light on its feet – a tactile core that draws you in. It finishes with a pucker of spiced cherry tannin, amaro herbs and cleansing acidity.
The Pinot Noir only received a lick of so2 at bottling and is un-fined and unfiltered, super clean though as I dotted over the wines in barrel! Bottled after 9months in oak, 30% new. Diam closure with (hand dipped) wax seal. Fruit sourced from 2 different vineyards in Balnarring, 50% purchased (Abel Clone) and 50% grown (MV6).
