“As a big fan of entry level wines, I put the same labor-intensive effort as we do for Barolo into the vineyards and the wine making. I want them to be expressive, juicy and ready to drink. A warm vintage doesn't always translate into a jammy, concentrated wine. We prioritize balance and freshness, so picking dates are always crucial during vintages like this past one. This year the weather allowed us to follow the natural ripening pattern without rushing to pick at different times. We sort in the vineyards for harvest to ensure the best fruit gets to tank. As my father taught me, I insist on the no filtration no clarification method which gives us wines with this deep umami sensation that I love. Our wines are stable and protected, and with just enough SO2 to ensure you get the same wine wherever you are in the world.”
