94 Pts, Gary Walsh (TWF) – “Red fruits, almond, floral notes and fennel, something of an earthy stony character too. It’s medium-bodied, has a juiciness to red fruit and cherry, fresh balanced acidity offering a bit of cranberry crunch, tannin is grainy but ripe and sits well within the wine, again that stony character, closing with bright red fruit and a gentle chewiness. Lovely wine. Better than quite a few Barbaresco! Could twist my arm for 94 points even. Either/or. It’s a triumph given the vintage.”
100% Ronchi Cru fruit from Barbaresco. It's delightful, bright but serious expression of Langhe Nebbiolo. Very floral & expressive aromatically. Red fruited with cherry, a little cranberry juiciness, almond. It’s also the most mineral release we have encountered – with a substantial amount of ferrous character. Bountiful in tannin but they are fine & silky. A lick of aniseed on a long finish.
